If you are already reading this, you have learned that we have introduced blogging into our site here. Why? Well, if you are still reading this, then it proves that we might better reach current and potential customers by blathering on usefully about various topics. We are often sought after for help or guidance regarding inventory or the technology to manage it. Our plan is to share what we have learned as we run across it, and a blog provides us with the perfect format to do so.
If that doesn't work for you, here's a few other reasons:
- Sometimes stuff happens here that we think we should share, but just doesn't seem to belong on the News and Events page of our site. Not that we plan to inform you of every mundane "hey, they painted our parking lot" sort of daily adventure, but we can be more free with happenings in this format.
- In the course of providing customer support, we are often presented with a problem that doesn't relate to our software, but is rather a more common problem affecting a larger population. For example: Why won't my Symbol mobile computer communicate with my Cisco wireless network right out of the box? (
OK...stay tuned, I will write that blog entry soon. Done! see here.) Rather than limit that solution to a private support forum or tech-paper, we can share it with anyone that can do a Google query. And, if they just so happen to need inventory control for Dynamics, then landing on our site would be just fine by us. - Like most of our customers and partners, we are also running a business and trying out various ideas and technologies to increase our efficiency or lower our expenses. We hope that our blogs will allow us to trade ideas of the wins and losses with others.
Given this, a corporate blog is a new experience here. We have enabled moderated comments on the postings. (Moderated because the spammers are now targeting blog comments as well as emails.) Your comments help to steer and jeer in ways that will make us better at this.

Re: Why a blog?
This is one of the best first blog entries I've read. You do a great job explaining the purpose of a company blog and your attitude of sharing what you find is great.
