The Panatrack Blog
Feb 20

OK, despite my best efforts at trying to keep current on the magic world of blogging, I have not been contributing my share of blog entries. This is despite my "I promise to contribute here a few times per month". Apparently, I blew that one. It is suffering along with the plan to start jogging this year.

It is amazing the amount of neat things happening here, and the total lack of time I have had to make even this simple of an entry. Posting perfection being my biggest enemy, I'd rather do a quick brain-dump of recent coolness than be haunted by my procrastination.

Here's a few teasers:

  • Panatracker Version 4 was recently released and is already live at a few customers. This release builds upon the ease-of-use of our previous version, and makes deployment and management of the handheld units even easier than before.
  • Additional features have been added to the Fixed Assets module for tracking more details about the asset, it's location, and the "custodian".
  • PanatrackerGP has been installed and is operational within "hosted DynamicsGP" environments. This is really slick, because it opens up affordable barcode-based inventory and fixed-asset tracking to a new level. Given that many of our deployments tend to fall within the 2 to 10 scanners range, this allows for good value in the not-so-good economic time.
  • New support for printing a packing-list when picking an order.
  • The inventory modules have newly-added support for the tracking of additional lot-level details, including lot-attributes and dates.
  • Enhancements to bin-level tracking for directed put-aways and moves.

There is more! But I can't remember it now! And if I take the time to perfect this entry, I won't submit it! How do people do this for a living?!
