We regularly get the question, "Can your application cross-reference the UPC number or manufacturer item number?" Actually, there is a spot in Dynamics GP to store manufacturer item number cross references. Our PanatrackerGP application will check this cross-reference table allowing the ability to complete any transaction using a set-up cross reference number. To set up these numbers in Dynamics GP, go to Inventory Cards>>Item Purchasing Options. Enter your GP item number. You will notice an icon to the right of the lookup icon that looks like gears. Click this icon to open the Manufacturer's Item Number Maintenance screen. There are three fields: Manufacturer - Manufacturer's Item Number - Description. You can also set a primary. This same table is where we recommend to add the UPC item number when different than your GP item number.
